Why can't I order directly from the website?
I would rather have direct communication with my customers to be able to talk about the specifics of your order. I want you to be as pleased as you can be with your jewelry, so I try to get the sizes just right, the colors how you want them, and the details exactly as you desire. So I prefer that you email me or call me (252-764-2429) to talk about your purchase. Thanks!
What materials do you use to make your jewelry?
Whenever possible, I do not use plated metals. I use solid sterling wire for all my chain maille pieces, and my other bracelets use sterling beads and toggles. Once in a great while I might use something that is silver plated, but that will be made clear in the item description. I use gold filled wire for my gold chain maille pieces, and I use gold filled beads and clasps on gold jewelry. Sometimes I do use gold plated beads or toggles because the selection of gold filled clasps is not as great as in sterling.
How long will it take to get my order in the mail?
That depends. :-) If you have ordered a chain maille piece and I have it in stock, I could send it the next day. If I have to make the rings then weave the piece for you, it could take a few days. For salvation bracelets, I typically have the crystals in stock to make one in a day or two. If you order a Bible verse or mother's bracelet, I'll need to order the letter beads especially for your bracelet, so it may take 10 days to receive your order.
How should I measure my wrist for a bracelet?
The best way to measure your wrist is to first choose the wrist you'll be wearing the bracelet on. (Your wrists can be different sizes!) Then take a piece of string or yarn and measure around the part of the wrist just above (toward the elbow) the little bone in your wrist. Send me that measurement and I will figure the right bracelet size for you.
Do you make custom jewelry?
Absolutely! If you see a picture of something in a magazine or catalog that you'd like to have recreated, I'd happy to take a look at it and see if it's something I can do. Whether or not I can recreate the jewelry will depend on the stones or metals used in the piece. I can also help you design something that exists only in your imagination!
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept PayPal, cash (for local purchases), and personal checks made out to Karen Charney. There is no tax (it's included in the price) but I do charge a little for shipping to help cover my costs.
